The Weeknd - Rolling Stone (Trilogy Version)

“Yea, I know I got my issues, why you think I fuckin’ flow..”

Someone PM’d me this 15 minutes ago, whether it is “The Trilogy” Version or not, it’s dope, It does sound like something Ill Angelo could do but then again The Weeknd NEVER leaks his music so I strongly doubt it

Question with 26 notes

bawbawbawbaw asked: hey could you please explain the song rolling stone to me? cheers

He’s talking to his girl in the song (obviously) telling her that he knows that she’s probably wondering how he (they) got to this place in their lives where’s he’s finally becoming famous (A Rolling Stone), telling her that she shouldn’t worry because the world only recognizes him for his music, just his music and not actually for the person he really is and that he doesn’t care about anyone else but her cause he’s been wandering or had an unsettled life for too long (Rolling Stone).

He says that he’s been “faded” ( living broke and unrecognized) for too long that it’s made him love/lust this fame (of being a Rolling Stone = Rock Star) also Rolling Stone here is a another reference to him being on drugs and weed (hand full of Weed, Chest full of Beans) and that he keeps on talking them killing another one of his brain cells, blowing out the weed smoke while he sings about this female (probably her). He tells her he knows that he’s got issues but that’s whats keeping him going and that he doesn’t care he’ll keep on doing the same things like doing drugs and smoking until he can’t even sing anymore (his career and fame ends) but until that happens he’s got her in his life until she gets tired of seeing his face all the time everywhere on T.V, Magazines etc.. (him being famous = Rolling Stone) and everyone knows things about him that she only used to know. He persuades her to keep loving him like she does now before everyone else does because at that point he might have changed as a person with all the fame (aka being a Rolling Stone) but he hopes that doesn’t happen and he doesn’t change and that she will still listen to him when he needs her but anyway until all that happens ( he really is famous/ a Rolling Stone) he’s still got her…
